Advice on designing app identical to iTunes playlist selector sidebar.

My knowledge for Cocoa Applescript is very limited, can somebody point me in the right direction for designing a simple application that acts as a playlist selector. Similar to the playlist selection sidebar on the left side of iTunes.

The app would have a small GUI so it doesn’t take up too much screen space when I’m DJ’ing.

I have an extensive music collection which I’ve sorted for my DJ’ing in iTunes.
Everytime I select a playlist, I want it to create a hard link of each music file in that playlist into a directory on my desktop. I have set my DJ software to sync to that same directory, so it shows all the tracks there and allows me to load them in my virtual decks.

Hi - NSOutileView class reference is what is needed to write some of the elements in iTunes. Quite advanced and lots of work.

Best,
t.

It seems this Cocoa scripting is way out of my depth, a quick look into NSOutlineView make it seem not worth my time at the moment…

But it is good to know what I should research now if I want to adventure in the future.

Thanks
