This should be simple, but it isn't. Need help.

I want to paste the clipboard into a new TextEdit document, find a string of text, replace it with another string of text and copy the whole thing back to the clipboard. I’ve tried to decipher AppleScript and got as far as working out that TextWrangler is more scriptable than TextEdit, but apart from that I’ve drawn a blank.

I know that it should be easy to do this with Automator, but I’m not getting anywhere.

You can do this if you purchase the Text Automator Action pack from http://www.automatedworkflows.com

I have them and can simply show you the workflow, but it will have these actions that you don’t have.

This should work. Although I am not sure what you are trying to achieve exactly. If you can explain a little more then that would be cool.

So bare with me here. Please look at the workflow that I did and we can work this out from here.

There are some automator actions you will have to purchase in order to achieve this (as per my last reply).
