Script to send email whenever X application crashes?

Hi there, fairly new at this, so pardon any stupidity in advance.

I’m working on a very slow Mac at work and we are trying to justify the need for an upgrade. We work on Pro Tools LE nearly every day and it is just bringing an older Mac Pro to its knees.

Trying to set up an applescript or automator application to send an email to a certain address every time Pro Tools Crashes.

Is this possible?
