.dbev-shm and .dev-wal

For Database Events files I'm noticing two additional filetypes for each database created with extensions ".dbev-shm" and ".dev-wal". I presumed these were temporary files, but after both closing the database and quitting Database Events the files persist.

Can anyone shed some light on these file types? I have done a fair bit of research online and searched the forums to no avail.

Database Events uses SQLite, and these are SQLite files. See here for more info: http://www.sqlite.org/wal.html

Re: .dbev-shm and .dev-wal

Thanks Shane. This answers my question satisfactorily. Probably worth digging into at some point to understand the file type usage further. For now, at least I understand the general usage.
