Is there a system wide daemon/hook system to triggers trigger script ?

I couldn’t find any information about a system wide daemon/events listener/hook which could dispatch events to and trigger specific applescripts ?

I found EventScript on the Mac app store. But is there any other all in one system wide solution which could listen to applications events, system event, screen, wifi, bluetooth, calendar and so on ?
