Manipulating Download URLs

I have a subscription on a epaper and would love to automatically download it every morning. The problem is, that the download link (obviously) changes every day:

http://www…net/e/%7BFAZ_20100929FAZ0032%7Depaperzip.zip
http://www…net/e/%7BFAZ_20101018FAZ2245%7Depaperzip.zip

I would love to have know how to insert the current date in the required format, so that I can use automator to download the file.

I hope that this is possible with script and automator.

Thx

Hi,

the problem is the part between FAZ and %7D, where does that come from?

Looks like a time stamp. Bad luck, if it is. :frowning:

Is there anyway around it? On the download page are 3 Links. Would it be possible to point at the last link (the one I want)?

I would download Fake it’s a new app by the guy who developed Fluid (Todd Dich### or something like that). It’s an awesome application that will do exactly what you’re looking for. I think the site is fakeapp.com but I’m not sure. I used it while it was in beta and it was excellent. I just cant convince my girlfriend its something we “need”. If you can’t get it to do what you want just email him and I’m sure he’ll be able to help or push an update that will. I know you don’t want to download an app just for this purpose but if you need to do anything automated on the web this is your app.

Thank you very much for the help! It is not exactly what I was looking for, but it seems like the best solution to the problem.

THX!
