printing windows in OS X?

does anyone know what the deal is with not being able to do a “print window” in os x?

Maybe i just havent found it, but this feature seems to be missing…i wondered if i could write a script to do a “window capture” and to print it automatically…

i havent looked into how to approach this script too much yet but i was just wondering if anyone had more info about this…

thanks, katchow

I haven’t found a way to print the window. Instead I created a script to list the contents of the current window. I keep this in my toolbar at the top of each window for easy access. This works better in some ways, as you can add generate your text to be printed in any way you want. Once you generate your list, you can write it to a file or open up a scriptable app and paste it in. A bet there is a way to send it to the terminal or shell and have it print out, too!

groimfish you think you could post a copy of your script?

i’d like to get a copy of that script also…the alternative is Print Window of Version Tracker.com: http://versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/12161
