Hi folks,
I’m new to this forum, brought here by the need to work with a project that uses Applescript to create MS Word docs. With the changes brought about by Mojave lots of old scripts are no longer working as expected.
Reading around it looks like the future of Applescript is somewhat uncertain. I say that in view of the departure of Sal Sagohan from Apple and the fact all the Applescript docs have been moved to archive status. And of course MS has removed some key functionality from the Applescript dictionary. All of these indicate to me uncertainty at least about the future.
But to my immediate needs I would very much appreciate hearing from folks with experience scripting Word and how you’re adopting to the current climate. The project I’m involved in uses Applescript extensively so understanding where we are headed is vital.
