Is there any way for Applescript to use the data displayed by the weather widget in the Notification Center? There’s a lot of weather APIs online but the problems are that they either cost (not ideal for one-off calls from an individual) or they’re not available (at all or reliably enough) for the country I live in because on a global scale, it’s an insignificant country.
I suspect that the widgets themselves aren’t scriptable apps because their main purpose is merely about displaying some data, but since that data is already there being delivered to my Mac for free via some route, might there in theory be some way of eavesdropping on that?
As the widget are no longer available in the new operating system - Catalina - I’m not sure that it’s a good idea to spend time upon one of them.
