Mac OS X and scripting ?

Lin Mu here:
Ok After all these years as a Mac user, I am finally going learn how to write some big scripts …
Then a thought accrues to me how long is Apple going to support the scripting environment?
Will I have to learn “cocoa” or “carbon” or whatever the decide to call it.
Do we who Script, have a future ?

Applescript will be fully supported under Mac OS X. So it’s a great time to get started with Applescript.

Is AS currently supported under MacOS X Server?

If you’re using the script editor that accompanies OS9, when you save a script, you’ll notice one of the options is to save as an OSX application. I think this means a bright future for applescript.
