Take a look to these sentences:
tell application "TextEdit"
get paragraph after paragraph 2 of document 1
get the paragraph behind the paragraph 2 of the document 1
the paragraph in back of (the 1st document's 2nd paragraph)
end tell
Could be much more syntaxes for the same result, and you may choose whatever makes life easier (and code more readable) for you.
