The AppleScript Sourcebook was founded by Bill Cheeseman, a long-time member of the AppleScript community. It first went live on August 26, 1996.
Ten years later, in 2006, Bill decided that the demands of his ongoing day job as a lawyer, as well as his interest in Cocoa programming in Objective-C for the Mac, made it impossible for him to keep up the site as a solo endeavor. He therefore decided to turn the site over to MacScripter.net.
Before the transition to MacScripter.net was completed, Bill updated all of the Tips and some of the Scripts that he had originally written for the classic Mac OS, to make sure they were valid for Mac OS X, as well.
From now on, the maintenance of The AppleScript Sourcebookâs legacy is in the hands of the MacScripter.net team. We expect that Bill will continue to contribute his insights from time to time.
