The fifth edition of ‘AppleScriptObjC Explored’, the indispensible reference to building AppleScriptObjC-based applications in Xcode, is now (finally!) available.
This edition is aimed at those using OS X 10.9 and Xcode 5.x.
Mavericks introduced new, more Objective-C-like syntax for calling AppleScriptObjC methods, and the book has been completely revised to reflect the change. Revisions, explanations and updates have been made throughout, and all screenshots have been updated to reflect the changes in Xcode 5.
As well, all the projects have been rebuilt from scratch, to ensure that what you see and what you build match as closely as possible.
The section on Xcode has been fully revised, and includes a single-page point-by-point guide to building applications capable of running under older versions of OS X.
The price is unchanged at $US29.95, and purchasers of versions three and four can upgrade for $US12 between now and June 30, 2014. Upgrades are free for those who bought the fourth edition since Mavericks was released in June last year.
As a special offer, those who bought version three or four of the book will receive a free upgrade if they purchase the application ASObjC Explorer for Mavericks before April 30, 2014.
Notifications of how to upgrade are being emailed out now.
