I was happy to find that AppleScript has a Dictionary of commands. The question I had, is there an easy way to access this Dictionary other then opening up each application’s help and searching for the link if one exists?
Open Script Editor, located in /Applications/AppleScript/ and go to File>Open Dictionary…
It should give you a list.
Alternatively, in the Script Editor, go to the Window menu → select Window>Library (shift command L) and you’ll get a list. Double clicking any item in the library window opens its dictionary and if you’re moving between apps that narrow window can be left on screen. If the app you want isn’t there, click the “+” icon and add it. If double clicking that doesn’t open it, it doesn’t exist and you might as well subtract it with the “-” button.
You can also open the Library of a scriptable application by dropping its application icon on the Script Editor icon in the dock. That’s the fastest test for scriptability I know.
