Are ASOC apps App Store eligible?

Just curious if anyone’s researched this (or tried)… Are ASOC (or ASOC/Obj-C hybrid) apps going to qualify for the new App Store?

I haven’t tried, but I believe so. In fact, I can’t see why a straight AppleScript app would be ruled out.

Scripts to drive other apps:
FWIW, I asked The Steve, and he said there is no provision to check to see if a user has a required app, before buying another app. Such as, my apps require the user to own InDesign but in the Mac App Store any old user could buy my app without having InDesign and then it’s useless to them.
So, for workflow apps, it could be dicey to make sure buyers get the point before purchasing. I am not sure I want to deal with a flood of emails “this app doesn’t do anything” and i have to tell them “do you have InDesign? No, well then refund for you”.

Similarly, there are apps that are designed to be used with a service (certain banks, credit cards, etc…). I think they should have, on each app’s “page”, a prominent field for listing any requirements for the app. So, in a case like yours, it would show up right in front, instead of maybe being buried in the “read more…” part of the description. Maybe even an option for the developer (as an option when submitting) to trigger a dialog before purchase that clearly says “This other specific app/service is required for this app to function. Do you still want it?” (at least for paid apps, anyway).
