Click on desktop and send all Finder Windows to the top ?

I really loved the feature of OS9 that allowed you to click anywhere on the desktop and all the open finder windows would come to the top.

seems like there should be an applescript to make up for this in OSX ?
does anyone know how to attach a script to the mouse click or to the desktop or something like that ?

thanks for any help

First, this thread is in the wrong forum, it should be in the OS X forum. For the second time in 2 days, I’m recommending the freeware app X-Assist (http://members.ozemail.com.au/~pli/x-assist/). It can be configured to emulate OS 9 window behavior in that all windows for an app come to the front when the app is made active. It can also be configured so that all windows that do not belong to the frontmost app will be hidden automatically (which my wife likes but I hate–a simple Command-Option-Click on the desired app will make it active and hide all others as well). The app does several other cool things and it is free.
