Controlling the sound outputs of 3 different applications

Hi folks

I’d like to know if there’s a way to automate setting the sound output of:

  1. The Macos system
  2. Audacity (https://www.audacityteam.org/) and
  3. The utility Background Music (GitHub - kyleneideck/BackgroundMusic: Background Music, a macOS audio utility: automatically pause your music, set individual apps' volumes and record system audio.)

Any tips most welcome

Thanks

Can you please elaborate: what exactly would you like to achieve?

Create shortcuts to increase/decrease the volume in certain apps? Or adjust volume automatically in certain apps depending on the type of sound they play? Or change the sound volume at specific time? Or something else?

Thanks for the reply. I often change the sound output of all of them between headphones and external speakers. If I can do that with a script that would be so much nicer.
Thanks

OK, to start with I’m using "Switch Audio"as shown here:

Thanks StefanK!!

I would still like to be able to control the outputs of Audacity and Background Music ((GitHub - kyleneideck/BackgroundMusic: Background Music, a macOS audio utility: automatically pause your music, set individual apps' volumes and record system audio.)

You may find some of the scripts on this thread useful for the system sound.

Hi @t.spoon
Thanks for the reply.
As I mentioned already, I’m using @StefanK 's SwitchAudio for that.
I’d like to be able to control the other 2 outputs, Audacity and BGMusic.
Any ideas?
