Being new to scripting I have had aquestion which has been perplexing me for awhile.
I have read that applescript is more capable on the mac platform then those other scripting languages are on the other 2 primary OS platforms. Is this true? Essentially is applescript & the Mac platform more robust in integrating and automating between app’s and the OS then the other 2 platforms; regardless of all the other scripting languages out there such as (Unix’s - perl, ruby, python, JavaScript And in the Win - VBscript, visual basic, perl - on windows, And of course the dual platform app - frontiers userland etc. etc. ?!?! Or can the same level of functionality be found on the other two OS’s and there repective applications?
Lastly if I were to spend my time learning another scripting language to complement applescript which would you sugges? Sincerely Synergy
