I am trying to make a new spot color in illustrator 10 using a script.
The basic idea is to select everything that is a certain color, and change it to another color. Both colors will be spot colors. Any ideas? I have the book “Adobe Illustrator Scripting” but the spot color properties are rather confusing.
Thanks!

As i recall, you couldn’t create new spot colours in Illustrator 9. It would still separate CMYK regardless of what you do. I took a look at it again when Illustrator 10 was released and it still wasn’t possible. There’s discussion about this on the www.adobe.com scripting forum.
Although it is possible to change the name of a spot colour already used in the file and then change the CMYK definition of that spot colour. Effectively changing one spot colour to another. I wrote a script for this a looong while ago. I could dig it up if you need it.

That’s exactly what I am trying to do, is rename exsisting spot colors to a specific LUT naming convention. I as well would greatly appreciate if you could find that script.
