Length (time) of QuickTime clip

Hi,

I’m having some difficulty using AppleScript to extract from a QuickTime movie its total length in terms of time.

I’ve tried to utilize frame (which I found by looking at QT dictionary), but I’m either not using it correctly or it just isn’t working.

Also, I’m able, of course, to position the QuickTime “in point” at the end of the clip and it returns a number (not time based) for that particular frame. How do I interpret that number in terms of time (hh:mm:ss:ff)?

This is very frustrating as QT makes the clip length available in serveral places in the interface (on the player timeline, movie properties, et al).

Thanks for the help…

This should work in QT 5 or later:
