Make Plain Text from any Text in the clipboard

Hi folks

I have no knowledge about AppleScript. I tried my plan with the Automator… there’s no point…

Here is my plan:

Make a service to:

  • copy selected text in any application (Mail, Safari, Word, etc.)
  • convert to plain-text like in TextEdit (shift-cmd-T)
  • copy plain text into clipboard ( so i can paste it elsewhere)

Sounds easy, is it possible with AppleScript? Any hints (or scripts ;-)) for a dummy?

set the clipboard to (the clipboard as text)
