need to paste into an applicatiom

I need the abilty to insert the date and time into a document while I am typing.

I found the scripting menu which i modified the time and date script.

so when i selec it, it puts the date in the clipboard. Then I go back to my app and do a “cmd-v” to paste the clipboard (which is the date and time) intop the document.

Is there anyway to modify a script to paste the clipborad into the insertion point of the active document?

So I am typing in a document, I run my script and the info is inserted where i am typing.

Hi Bob, I haven’t had the time to work out a few bugs, but maybe this will get you started…

tell application “Tex-Edit Plus”
activate
select window 1
set x to current date
set insertion point after last character of window 1 to x as text
end tell

Tested – somewhat in Tex-Edit Plus
