Parsing XML; Problem with item "&"

Hello together,

at first sorry for my english. It is not very well, but I am going to improve them.
Now, it is time for my first problem.

Parsing a XML file works since Tiger with “System Events” very easy.
There is only one problem. If the value of some XML element contains the item “&” the complete parsing procedure failed.

Anybody notice this problem, too?
Some solution could be to check the content befor parsing and repleace the item “&” with an other expression.
But that isn’t nice.

Works nice:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> It works test

– XML parsen
set myFile to (path to desktop folder as string) & “test.xml”
tell application “System Events” to set myList to (every XML element of XML element “result” of XML element “parentelement” of contents of XML file myFile)

Failed:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> It doesn't work & failed test

– XML parsen
set myFile to (path to desktop folder as string) & “test.xml”

The & is not valid in an XML entity. Replace it with & .
