Standard Additions 1.10.1 was released with OS X 10.4.2 and requires 10.4 or higher. The scripting addition contains changes to the do shell script command. The AppleScript runtime has not changed and its version number remains 1.10.
Bugs Fixed in Standard Additions 1.10.1
do shell script … with administrator privileges now sets both the real and effective user ids of the script to 0. This matches the behavior in Mac OS X version 10.3.x, and corrects a number of permission troubles in Mac OS X versions 10.4.0 and 10.4.1.
Using [b]sudo/b with the administrator privileges parameter of the do shell script command will no longer cause the script to hang. In general, adding sudo to with administrator privileges is redundant, but some scripts rely on it.
