Howdy all,
I know this isn’t exactly the section for it, but I couldn’t find a section that looked like it’d fit, so I just picked the one that seemed to have the most people looking at it.
I just wanted to thank everyone here for all their help. When I first came here, I was but a beginner who hadn’t even messed with variables before. After just a few short months here, I’ve learned about strings, aliases, variables, tell blocks, try blocks, if blocks, error statements, lists, folder names, creating new items, making variable lists, text boxes… the list goes on. And now I’m beginning to move onto xcode and Applescript Studio, which is a milestone that I would have thought impossible before I came here.
The help here has been amazing. Even on the stupidest of questions, the answers I got were as if it was a question anyone would ask. They were even so kind as to explain how something works, and why you use that particular statement. The great part is that the help isn’t like ‘here is what you do, and here is the code example’ it’s more like ‘here is what you’re doing wrong. You use that command like this, instead. Try using it that way.’ so that you learn from your mistakes by doing it yourself. And every time someone asks for help with applescript at another forum I visit, I tell em to come over here, as you guys were, and continue to be, such a great help to me.
In short, I just wanted to thank everyone here for all of their help. I have learned so much, and I hope to learn much more.
Thanks again!
