unix 'security' -G value

Hi,

Does anyone know what is the value option (-G) for ‘security’ module in terms of Keychain Access? I don’t see anything matching the value option.

        -a account      Match account string
        -c creator      Match creator (four-character code)
        -C type         Match type (four-character code)
        -D kind         Match kind string
        -G value        Match value string (generic attribute)
        -j comment      Match comment string
        -l label        Match label string
        -s service      Match service string
        -g              Display the password for the item found
        -w              Display the password(only) for the item found

I figured out that you need to create the password with the application, but why would you need the value option? It’s strange. Can’t find it on the internet.

An generic password item have all kind of different fields/properties like date, description, type and account. But there is also a property named generic attribute. With the option -G you can filter on property generic attribute’s value, all of my generic attributes are NULL so I can’t test the code but it should work that way. The property is named “gena” when using the terminal and list the the generic password item.
