Upgrade from 1.1.0

Hello All,

I hope this is the right place. I recently tried to use a program and it said i needed applescript 1.9.1 . I currently have version 1.1.0 and my OSX is updated to 10.4.9. Is there anywhere i can download 1.9.1. Is it a free download or do i have to buy this version. Thanks in advance.

Mac OS X 10.4 comes with AppleScript 1.10.0. That program is probably not reading the version number properly, and it may be thinking that 1 is less than 9, instead of (the proper) 10 is greater than 9. You should let the author of that program know about your problem.

Also, AppleScript is part of the OS; There aren’t any separate upgrades.

Side note: There was something added to AppleScript 1.10 for this very issue:

Scripts that compare AppleScript version numbers using string comparisons will need to be changed in order to work correctly with the new AppleScript version number. A considering numeric strings statement must be added before the string comparison so that the string “1.10” will be greater than the string “1.9.3”.
