XCMD OSAX choose Printer command

Hi there…

I had just downloaded OSAX scripting additions into my mac to try to use the choose printer command.

However I am not able to… it is giving me all sorts of error. Just wanna see if anyone had experience with it??

the printer I want is choose is called HP81001 in AppleTalk Zone “Production”. I don’t need to put the printer on desktop, I just need to select it.

I tried:
choose printer “HP81001” errors saying there are preimeters missing

chooser printer HP81001 errors saying HP81001 is not define

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P.S I also wanna look into writing a script to mount a volume from appletalk zone. Is this possible to be done, through normal script or OSAX. Thanks heaps.

It works something like this…

tell app "Finder"
    Choose Printer DriverName "Laserwriter 8" PrinterName "MyPrinter" Zone "Ethernet"
end tell

Zone parameter is optional

I was having trouble with this too.
